Hi, I’m Brian Onang’o
This is my personal blog. I have been writing computer programs since I was 14 years old. A few years ago when I was first employed, I used to confidently refer to myself as a senior programmer. That was the folly of youth. For the more I have gotten down to really building useful stuff, the more I have gotten to see just how little I know, especially of the so called best practices. There is always something new for me to learn everyday. And it seems to me that I will be a junior developer till I retire. Now, with over 6 years of working experience, I still can’t get down to writing a useful CV. I prefer rather to… This problem is compounded by the fact that I have had, and will still have things to handle in so many fields: software, mechanical and electrical.
But that’s not all. I have gotten down again to learning grammar in 3 languages for other responsibilities that I have at Gospel Sounders with the Bible Instructor, the Bible Companion, the Sabbath School Lessons and the Bible Translation Project.
There is also a lot of AI to learn for the Advent Hymnal project at Gospel Sounders. The older I grow, the clearer it is to me that “if any man thinketh that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to”. It was said of our days that “men shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased”. We cannot know it all.
